Subject: English Political or Neutrual
I believe English is political, one language becomes dominant is mainly because of it's economic, military, cultrual power, However, to say a dominant language will getting powerful and stronger as more and more people going to speak or evaluated by itself is unacceptable. In history, Spanish was once a dominant power in 16th-17th century, it had colonies all over the world, but Spanish did not maintian it's world language because its military loss. So, the most important point is the power of the dominant country. How long can the dominant country's language last is depend on it's power. It is not an inevitable trend.
You're right. Now, English has became the world language because of the United States, the world's most powerful country! Thanks to you, George Washington!
